A.A.S.

After graduating from Ridgefield Memorial High School, I started at Bergen Community College in the fall of 2006. I was accepted into the College’s Dental Hygiene Program in March of 2007 and will graduate from Bergen in May of 2009. I am extremely proud to be a student in the highly prestigious Dental Hygiene Program. It has been a rewarding and challenging experience.

I chose Bergen because it has an affordable tuition rate and is conveniently located near my home. I don’t have the funds to pay $30,000 a year to attend school and don’t want to be in debt after graduating from college. Additionally, Bergen is one of the best community colleges in the country.

Hit the ground running! Follow your dreams. Make goals for yourself, and then surpass them! Get involved in your school by participating in a sport, club, or volunteer group. If you do so, then you will have great memories to look back upon once you graduate.

My favorite academic experience has been my time in the Dental Hygiene Program. I have met so many people who have not only become my friends, but also my support group. My classmates and I are all reaching for the same goal and it is nice to have such great people in my life. Also, my courses have been extremely valuable and fulfilling.
I have knowledgeable professors who have taught me important lessons about how to utilize my instruments in clinic and the hundreds of different types of prescription drugs.

Through the Dental Hygiene Program, I have volunteered my time for Bear Hugs for the Holidays, Special Olympics, and Oral Cancer Screenings.
