Biography:
I came to the U.S. from Macedonia when I was in the 7th grade. I attended Hackensack Middle School and High School. I transferred to Bergen and majored in Liberal Arts and the second year I chose Psychology as my major. I have always been intensely interested in Psychology. I started taking classes and so far I have taken four psychology courses towards my major. I have a particular interest in Abnormal Psychology.
Why did you choose Bergen Community College?:
I considered Montclair and Bergen as my two choices for college. I wanted to stay close to home and Bergen provided a high quality alternative at a reasonable price. Many of my colleagues also attend Bergen for the financial value. It is a comfortable setting and the faculty is very helpful, supportive, and nurturing. The faculty has helped me so much to achieve my academic goals.
What advice would you give a prospective student?:
Never give up your academic goals and try your best to achieve them. Also, explore the possibilities that Bergen Community College offers because it doesn’t have to cost a lot. It goes way beyond the tuition to how the faculty accepts Bergen students and supports them as they progress through their respective academic programs.
What has been your favorite academic experience so far?:
My psychology courses have been the highlight of my academic experience. Taking these courses has made me realize that this is the right choice for my future career.
