Degree Seeking:
A.S.

Biography:
I was born and raised in the Philippines. At 15, I left for the United States and lived in Queens, New York. After a year, we moved to New Jersey. I’m very involved at school; I write for the Torch newspaper, serve on the Student Activities Board, am a member of the Filipino Club and serve on the publicity committee of Bergen Honors. I’ve also recently been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa.

Why did you choose Bergen Community College?:
I chose Bergen because it is affordable. At the same time, it is among the best community colleges in the country. Take note, it is ranked number 2 nationwide.

What advice would you give a prospective student?:
Be excited and focus. Develop your time management skills. Enjoy learning and meet new people.

What has been your favorite academic experience so far?:
Presenting my term paper for the NRHC Conference in Rhode Island is the best academic experience I've had so far. I met people from different states and learned a great deal. I was inspired to educate myself more with global issues and learn about others’ ideas.
