Degree Seeking:
A.A.S.

Biography:
In 2001, I came to the United States with the intention of learning English and to experience life in another country. Since I have always been interested in different cultures and travel issues, I decided to enroll in the Travel & Tourism program at Bergen Community College. I thought this major would be the perfect fit for my academic and professional future. These two years in college were a very positive experience for me and now I recognize the importance of having a degree. In May 2006, I wanted to reinforce my knowledge of the travel industry, so I went back-packing throughout Europe for two months, in which time I visited ten countries. At present time, I am concentrating on increasing my mastery of the Spanish language in Seville, Spain. As for my future aspirations, I will be looking for a job and I intend on furthering my education.

Why did you choose Bergen Community College?:
Bergen offered the program I was looking to major in, plus it was very affordable. Few people know that Bergen is one of the best community colleges in the United States. Hopefully, it will become a four-year college sometime soon.

What advice would you give a prospective student?:
Establish goals and commit yourself to them, take advantage of every opportunity that you encounter, and stay knowledgeable in the field you have chosen to study. Last but not least, make sure to travel somewhere!

What has been your favorite academic experience so far?:
Establish goals and commit yourself to them, take advantage of every opportunity that you encounter, and stay knowledgeable in the field you have chosen to study. Last but not least, make sure to travel somewhere!
