Biography:
I am 17-years-old and I graduated from Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, New Jersey in 2006. I came to Bergen Community College to continue my study in the area of computers. I've grown up around computers and have always been interested in learning more about them. As I have gotten older, my interest has only grown stronger. After I finish the work for an associate’s degree at Bergen Community College, I plan to continue studying to obtain a bachelor’s degree, elsewhere.
Why did you choose Bergen Community College?:
I chose Bergen because it had a reputation for being a great school. My neighbor, Chris Garvin, a teacher here at Bergen, has said nothing but good things about this college. When I first came here, I felt very comfortable on campus, even when I had no idea where I was going. All of the teachers and students are very helpful. Bergen is a great place to be a part of.
What advice would you give a prospective student?:
Choosing which college to attend takes a lot of planning. You should look at both two-year-colleges like Bergen, as well as various four-year-schools. From there, determine which type of environment better suits you. It is also important to visit each college in person because you will never know how well you will fit in unless you place yourself on campus and see firsthand if it is a compatible fit for you.
What has been your favorite academic experience so far?:
I have loved being in class because I have witnessed such diverse opinions and viewpoints from both the faculty and other students. The variety of perspectives presented has opened my mind to new ideas and new ways of thinking.
