Two years ago, I came to the United States to develop my English skills and enrolled in the American Language Program at Bergen. During this time, I made so many friends and really enjoyed studying here. After I completed the program, I felt it was right to return to Argentina as most of my family lives there and I began to miss them. Upon returning to my home country, I enrolled in a private university. It was then that I realized how much I missed Bergen. There were not many opportunities for students majoring in Social Work at the Argentinean university and I was unhappy at the new school. After weighing my options, I decided to apply for a student visa so that I could go back to the States and continue my education at BCC. I knew that it would be hard as I would be leaving my family and my home country again, but I felt I needed to follow my dreams and pursue a future in Sociology and Humanities. I am proud to say that, today, I am matriculated in Bergen’s Social Work program, have been named to both the Honors and Dean’s list, am a semester away from graduating, and have loved every minute of it!

I initially chose Bergen because it offered high-quality education at an affordable cost and it is situated in a great location.

Bergen Community College is a great place to achieve your educational goals. Make sure to work hard, focus on your studies and do not forget to make friends along the way!

I really enjoy every aspect of Bergen, whether I am in class, at the library, visiting my counselors/advisors, or just walking down the hallways. Most of faculty members and staff have been fantastic. Because of their assistance and dedication, I have become more confident in my abilities and I believe I can do whatever I put my mind to. I want to specifically thank Prof. Mike Echols, Jacqueline Behn, Valerie Wood, Guinevere Shaw, Khairia Fazal, and my writing tutor Kathleen Cronin, each of whom inspired me to never give up. If this school offered a four-year degree, I would definitely continue my education here. Bergen is the perfect college!!
