Nursing
Belleville, NJ
Biography:
I was born in Tbilisi, Georgia (used to be part of former USSR). I came to the United States in 1992 when I was 15 years old. I learned English here in High School. After I finished High School, I went to a four year college and graduated with a Computer Science Degree. However, I found out that I was more a people person and I couldn't imagine sitting by a computer all day without much people interaction. I realized that I wanted to work with people and help them, so I chose to go into the Nursing field, since I always had an interest in Medicine.
Why did you choose Bergen Community College?:
I chose Bergen because it offers an excellent and very competitive nursing program. It is also the only nursing program in the area that offers evening classes, which allows me to work during the day time.
What advice would you give a prospective student?:
I would highly recommend Bergen Community College. Students can get a good education at Bergen, the professors here are excellent, and the tuition price for Bergen County residents is very reasonable too.
What has been your favorite academic experience so far?:
My favorite experience is my nursing clinical experience. I have applied the skills that I learned in classrooms to take care of patients in a nursing home and a hospital.
Do you participate in other clubs or organizations while enrolled at Bergen? If yes, please list them here.:
No, since I don't have any free time, because I work 30 hours a week during the daytime, and I take my nursing classes in the evening until 10:20 pm
